A simplified onboarding sequence: check available records, add a meal, and return to the overview. It is a guide diagram rather than a live setup screen.

The first week is about getting familiar with your records. Connect the information you already collect, log a few things you want to remember, and check that the dates and units make sense. You do not need a complete health history to begin.

Start with the dashboard

Sign in and open the dashboard. Empty areas show where Strata has no records yet; they are not a score for your health. Choose a useful first area, such as sleep or nutrition, rather than trying to fill every section immediately.

Before entering measurements, check your profile and unit preferences. Dates and units are small details that become important when you review a history or ask an assistant for a comparison.

Bring in Apple Health records on iPhone

In the iOS app, open the HealthKit screen under More. Use Connect HealthKit to request access, then review which categories you want to share. Available data depends on your device, the categories you allow, and what Apple Health already contains.

Check the connection and sync information after setup. If an expected measure is missing, inspect its source and app permissions in Apple Health before assuming Strata should have a value. Apple's documentation explains how to review app access and contributing sources.

Add records that your devices cannot supply

Log one ordinary meal with its portions, or add a short wellbeing check-in. Use the actual date of the event. A small amount of consistent context is more useful for this first review than a long retrospective list with uncertain times.

If you want conversational logging, connect a compatible assistant and try one supported entry. Open the corresponding app view afterward to verify that it was recorded as intended.

Finish with a check, not a verdict

At the end of the week, choose a date range and see what is present. Look for missing days, mistaken portions, and unexpected units. Decide what you would like to keep recording next week.

  1. Confirm the date range you are reviewing.
  2. Check at least one source record behind a total.
  3. Correct an obvious entry error.
  4. Choose one habit for the next week.

An illustrative example

A manageable first week

Alex connects Apple Health, checks that sleep records appear, and logs lunch on Monday through Friday. Sunday's review starts by noting that the weekend has no meal logs. Nothing needs to be invented to make the week look complete.

Keep this in mind

Success in week one is a record you understand and a routine you can repeat.
