Keep the meanings distinct

Editing the plan does not correct a food log.

Day-specific values illustrate the weekly budget layout. They are example planning values, not personal recommendations.

A calendar week does not have to use the same planned amount every day. Strata's Calorie Budget view supports day-specific planning, so you can review the week and inspect an individual day. The budget is a planning record, not proof of what you ate or burned.

Separate a plan from an observation

A daily budget sets out a planned amount. Nutrition entries describe recorded intake, while activity data provides separate information about movement and energy estimates. Keep those meanings distinct when reviewing the screen.

This guide does not recommend a calorie target or a deficit. Use an appropriate plan for your situation, and seek qualified guidance when a dietary change has medical implications. Calorie budgets are not shown for managed child profiles.

Start in the week view

Open Calorie Budget from the dashboard and select Week. Check the selected week before editing. Review all seven days so that a weekday change does not hide an unintended weekend value.

These targets are recurring day-of-week settings, not independent plans saved for each dated week. Navigating between weeks changes the records you review; editing a weekday target changes the recurring schedule. A uniform or weekday/weekend template can be a starting point if it matches your chosen plan.

  1. Confirm the displayed week.
  2. Review each day's planned values.
  3. Adjust the appropriate day or apply a suitable template.
  4. Check the week again after the change.

Use the day view for a closer look

Select Day to inspect the date you are working on. Compare the plan with recorded intake while preserving the difference between the two. A remaining amount depends on the recorded data and the app's calculations.

If a result looks surprising, check both sides: was the planned day correct, and were the meals recorded accurately? Editing a budget does not fix a duplicate food entry.

Review the pattern before reusing it

Keep the planning pattern recognizable. If your schedule changes, revisit the affected days instead of assuming a previously useful week still fits.

Use the weekly review to check recording consistency as well as the plan. A neat budget table can coexist with incomplete meal logs; make that limitation visible in your own conclusions.

Keep this in mind

Know which date you are editing and keep planned amounts separate from recorded intake.
